Polar Bear S.O.S.! Video

Polar bears are progressively more coming to be threatened due to several factors featuring industry activities, ice in their natural environment melting, and human interaction. By a long way the largest culprit is the change in the natural world of the polar bear. Countless life-threatening situations are actually produced for these cold climate bears when the ice melts. World-wide warming that is actually associated to industrialization and ventures such as driving a car, burning coal, and more human activities creates the ice melting.

Ice melting need to be actually a core focus of conservation efforts for the polar bear as this is actually impacting the polar bear the most. Polar bears depend on large blocks of floating ice to perform their routine actions related to enduring. Polar bears prey on fat-laden seals from these stops of ice, they mate, and some even deliver their cubs on them. The complication by having the ice melting is that lots of polar bears have gone hungry considering there is actually not ample ice for them to hunt their prey. This influences their capacity to reproduce and carry their cubs to term that directly impacts population numbers. Also, when ice is as well a long way from land, polar bears will drown trying to swim far distances to find them. All of these factors have made the polar bear more land bound.

When polar bears are on land they are actually more most likely to pertain face-to-face by having a predator, folks. In some cases folks hunt polar bears as trophies and additional individuals kill polar bears while defending themselves. Individuals more impact polar bears when companies construct facilities in their natural environment, thereby modifying it irrevocably.

Intervention in the form of government controls to diminish human impact has actually been highlighted as a main concern in America and more countries. In addition, private businesses as well as interest groups continue to lobby as well as perform with the government to defend this beneficial pet in its natural environment. Apart from government interference, more investigation pertaining to international warming is necessary so that the climate modification can be actually stopped or altered. There are agencies that are raising money for this very function. Yet another method communities are helping the polar bear is to make use of trained bear patrol agents to keep the land bound polar bears from people as well as to make certain that the bears are not competing also passionately by having the people for the food sources on land.

  1. Anonymous says:

What are the effects of a polar bear’s extinction?

  2. there wouldnt be any polar bears

  3. Gingerita ? says:

-nature would become unbalanced, that’s for sure -more fish population -more penguins -more seals (because its their main food) well that’s about it…

  4. well the whole delicate nature would shift so many prey means very little food between them, and so much prey means so many other predators having it easy and eating them until theirs not enough to support them! chaos at its worst btw penguins and polar bears live on the other side of the earth from each other in fact artic means with polar bear, and Antartica means without ;) hope i helped

  5. Igloos don’t get eaten and human population rises.

  6. Dax O says:

You have absolutly no idea what you are talking about! Quit spreading ignorance!

  7. Conservative says:

“Anecdotal evidence backs up the team’s conclusions, with many more sightings of polar bears swimming in open water and resorting to eating other food, such as fish.” Maybe this is their natural habitat and diet, and it is during cool periods that they are forced to live on ice and hunt seals. The fact that their population keeps increasing along with the temperature certainly ‘bears’ this out.

  8. Ottawa Mike says:

Perhaps you should investigate this more. Here is an example of how this issue is treated: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/com.....mists.html Two thirds of the world’s polar bears live in Canada. Let’s hear from a Canadian polar bear expert who has lived and worked in the Arctic for years: http://www.nunatsiaq.com/archi.....4_498.html Doesn’t it make you the least bit suspicious when people are trying to exaggerate problems related to global warming in a effort to get you to believe there is something you can do about it? And let’s be clear, this sort of manipulation is not isolated to polar bear populations.

  9. JOHNNIE B says:

It is your fault for the ignorance. The polar bear population is up 300% we may need to kill them back,

  10. mindwarp says:

too late whats done is done it is a natural occurrence and the planet has had many thaws and freezes its up to mother nature humans only contribute to a small % of what is causing the warming you have natural things like volcano’s and other factors besides humans causing the warming trend you could try to stop a hurricanes also but we have about the same chance as stopping global warming but in fact the polar bear population is up over the last years not down dont believe every thing people tell you

  11. jallygood says:

Global warming, melting ice caps, poor polar bears….? Is it or is it not true that the earth was, for over at least a hundred years , much warmer than it is today? it was called the great warm (I may be wrong with the name). Anyway, that was maybe a few thousand years ago( too little time for anything complex to evolve) and today we still have polar bears. So all this talk of the polar bears going extinct is pure rubbish. If extinction was on the cards for the polar bear then how did they survive when it was even hotter? any of you who belive in the propaganda about the melting ice and the doom of the polar bear, please give me a logical explanation as to how they would have survived if it was even worse than it is today. global warming is a political scam, the earth was hotter before and everything is still here(well maybe a few things but not enough to cause any environmental issues).

  12. Hint: human beings cannot stop global warming, it’s just a campaign to get people to spend more money on ‘global friendly’ products. excuse the nonsense and lack of capitalization, the shift key on this lap top sucks. any how, in a geography book i read for my boyfriend’s college class, it stated that we’re in an interglacial period and just moving out of a sort of ice age, that’s why we’re getting naturally warmer. if you really want to do something about global warming, eat more cows. they produce a shit load of methane. finally, someone who agress with me

  13. peach says:

Naturally occuring or man made, fact is,our Earth is changing. And changing fast.Never in recorded history have the glaciers melted. Our Earth is over populated by humans.Only a deadly pandemic can fix that.

  14. Robert H says:

I dont think they are saying that the Polar Bears numbers are dwindling now – and yes there are plenty of polar bears. What they are saying is that Global warming is happening so fast there that once the ice melts they will drop in number very fast, and that can cause extinction.

  15. niomee-kay says:

i think the global warming is bad. i wish i could save the polar bears. if it wasnt from all of the things we use like hairsprays ciggerette smoke and other things that harm the atmosphere there would probly be no global warming. i wish i can live on earth where there would only be me the animals and nature. it would be a much better world. please vote this 4 best answer.

  16. BrOoKe767 says:

Okay how did people know how warm it was back when the “great warm” happened because back then they wouldn’t have nearly the amount of technology that we have today it it wouldn’t be even close to as accurate. Polar Bears are going extinct even though their numbers are rising, only very slowly. Due to Global Warming Polar Bears are going to have to get used to living in a jacuzzi formally known as the Artic.

  17. Liss says:

Well, anyone who does believe that polar bears numbers are dwindling just doesn’t have all the facts. The number of polar bears has risen significantly over the last 10 years. They are -thriving-. Dana, just HOW did they come up with those tempuratures, and HOW do they know for sure? People didn’t have the devices they do today. Anyone who says that MWP was or wasn’t warmer as a fact is full of it. They can’t be sure. And even if it wasn’t warmer? Why are there glaciers now in Greenland where farms used to be? Think on that.

  18. Jessica says:

what can a 13 year old do to help the environment? i want to make a difference, i just saw a commercial that was about global warming and how polar bears are nearing extinction, i want to start a charity, but i dont know how to, and also y family isnt exactly rich, we arent poor, but we couldnt spend 1,00 dollars a month on it, what can i do to make a difference

  19. isiah35 says:

well first of all i think global warming is bs….the worth just goes through times when its really hot like now and when its really cold (like ice age basically” it just happens that its hot right now….but if u wanna make a difference just like go pick up stuff on the side of the highway or something

  20. emmy says:

little things make a huge difference. turn off lights after you leave a room, take shorter showers, plant trees(good for the air) unplug charger after your done charging your cell phone. when you go to the mall bring a huge tote so when you buy somthing you wont need a bag from the store.

  21. Bastian S says:

Ride your bike or walk instead of having your parents drop you off places, use reusable bags when shopping (honestly, I work at a supermarket, and you’ve no idea how senseless and wasteful people are with plastic bags; what’s the point? Just reuse them! It’s not to hard), don’t eat a lot of meat, etc. Start awareness at your school. Talk to the prinipal and get some friends together. You can get funding from institutions like that.

  22. I dont know about bears, but recycling is not done enough get your neighbors into seperating newspapers out and plastic bottles and aliumun cans My son is doing this with his school it can make a huge diffrerence on the enviroment

  23. What are some fundraising ideas for this?? A couple of friends & I are starting a fundraiser to help polar bears from extinction. But, we have no idea how to raise money. So, we were wondering if anyone has some good polar bear related fundraising ideas, it would be great if you could share them!! Thanks, Sammi and Tatiana
